Ductile Iron Yoke Bearing Housing
Used in a bottle capping machine, this bearing housing was milled from 60-40-18 ductile iron, which we annealed to improve its machinability before fabricating this close tolerance part.

We employed our modern milling equipment to form the part. The flats and diameters, were then ground to the extremely tight tolerances of +0.0005″/-0.0000″. Overall finished dimensions were 15.88″ in length, and 3.752″ in height. Application of a black oxide finish maximized corrosion resistance, and light assembly operations consisted of installing the fitting.
Each step in this multi-process manufacturing cycle involved visual and dimensional inspections in accordance with our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. We built this component, from start to finish, with the precision, hardness, and wear resistance needed to provide a long service life under the stresses of a high speed packaging operation.
